An introspective first person delving back into the writers previous life.
lyrics
I'm a modern day cave man, surviving the onslaught,
trying to conquer, the mind and its monsters
the light in the morning, shines on the fortress
but the signs of the torture denies any warmth,
the riders on the storm come to fight us for our flora,
take whats ours and divide us from the former,
I’m hiding in the corner, trying to move forward,
though every single day the lions find me I’m a goner
if i don’t try my best to move on, inside my head I’m too strong,
when i lie in bed, my heart inside my chest it beats on two drums
i try to step & fight to get my head away from the lions den
spider webs of lies and debts, change to a minor threat
let me find my legs then I’m a find my breath, I’m a frightened mess - eyes are red, should i just lie in bed? nah
today I’m gonna try instead. today I’m gonna try instead - today I’m gonna try instead
But I've got a mammoth task ahead of me...
Life in a cave, Life in a cave
try as i may to keep the lions at bay
keep finding a way, to survive in this place
Life in a cave, Life in a cave
Life in a cave, Life in a cave
try as i may to keep the lions at bay
keep finding a way, to survive in this place
Life in a cave, Life in a cave
I tried and I tried but i couldn’t break the cycle, of day to day survival, slash tryna change my vitals,
I’m might just stay in today, fires warm and sufficient to fuel my inner hate, write my name on the walls as if to go down in history,
a modern day caveman future mans mystery, self pity master of misery, the last of a dynasty, viciously, charging to victory..
the lions came and went at high noon, my pride it stayed but left quite soon,
inside my cave i slept right through, until that nights moon lighted my room
I’m alright just tryna find truth, in the stars, and the signs and the lights that guide you, like a faithful dog right beside you.
tomorrow i will try too, tomorrow i will try to, fight through.
life in a cave, rife modern age,
I’m sliding away into a mind of dismay,
keep hiding today , morrow might be the way
life in a cave, rife modern age
life in a cave, I’m alive for today,
I’m finding i may be alright as they say,
keep finding away to survive in this place,
I’m alive for today and kept the lions at bay.,
day one on the move, I’ve lost a lot but not as much as I’ve got to lose,
on the hunt for food, not much to choose from,
though i’d much rather chew than get chewed on,
climb to where i can get a good view from, I’m aware of the eyes on my movements,
I’m prepared for the fight that is looming, scared - though I’m only hughman,
if i keep moving along the track, the weight upon my back that once was stacked,
becomes less than it was when i donned the pack, i guess its because i am stronger than i was -
but id forgotten that - when i was often trapped in my cave scared of the problems had,
proper sad, to the point id gotten mad, at everyone i know, that options bad.
just gotta keep moving, the animals are hunting and theres a lotta these humans, who are see through, cheap, rude n only wanna see you losing, to keep the economy booming
trading souls just to take control of the men and woman who make us whole
today is the day that we break the mould, take hold of the lions and change it all.
